Which muscles make our chest move?
Answer: There are two major muscles in our chest that make it move. One of them are Intercoastal muscles that are located between each pair of ribs. The second one are the diaphragm muscles. These muscles help increasing and decreasing the size of lungs when we breathe.
What happens to chest when we inhale?
Answer: When we inhale, the diaphragm is pulled down and the rib cage moves upwards and outwards. The space inside the chest gets bigger providing more volume for air to enter the lungs. The air rushes into the lungs filling the extra space created.
What happen when we exhale?
Answer: When we exhale, the diaphragm muscles move upwards and the rib cage is pushed downwards and inwards. This decreases the volume of lungs, forcing the air out of the lungs.
Why is it better to breathe through nose?
Answer: Our nose contains hair that can trap dust particles and germs that are harmful for our health. When we breathe through mouth, there are no hair present within the oral cavity, so there are more chances of germs and dust particles entering the lungs.
How is air processed in nose?
Answer: As the air passes through the nasal cavity. The hair in the nose make the air clean by trapping dust and germs, blood vessel present in the nose make the air warm before it reaches the lungs and the slimy greenish yellow mucus present in the nose make the air moist.
