Food Energy and Respiration Learning 4
What is major component of respiration?
Answer: The major component of respiration is Oxygen and Oxygen comes from breathing. When oxygen reaches the cells by the aid of blood stream, it combines with food to produce energy. If there is lack of Oxygen then anaerobic respiration would occur would is really bad for human body in excess amounts.
What are products of respiration?
Answer: In respiration, two reactants are used i.e. food and oxygen. When oxygen combines with food it forms two major products and energy. In aerobic respiration, the two by-products that are formed are Carbon dioxide and Water, while in anaerobic respiration three by-products are formed i.e. Carbon dioxide, water and lactic acid.
What is concentration of components in deoxygenated blood?
Answer: When the blood reaches the cells, oxygen and glucose diffuses into the cells and carbon dioxide and water are diffused into the blood. This means that when blood reaches the heart from the cells, it contains a greater amount of carbon dioxide and water and less amount of glucose and oxygen.
What is diaphragm?
Answer: A diaphragm is a tough, dome-shaped sheet of muscles across the bottom of the chest. It helps to make the chest into an air tight box.
What are intercoastal muscles?
Answer: Our ribs and diaphragm are moved by muscles. Each pair of ribs contains these muscles. These muscles that help in the expansion and compression of ribs are known as Intercoastal Muscles.
